Privacy Policy

SproutFaith collects almost nothing about you. This page says exactly what, why, and what your choices are.

Last updated:

The short version

  • We don’t use cookies, analytics, ads, or accounts.
  • We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.
  • Our host, Cloudflare, sees technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and the page you asked for. This is needed to deliver the site.
  • If you pick light or dark mode, that choice is saved on your device only.
  • If you email us, we get your address and message and use them only to reply.
  • Questions or requests? Email us.

What we collect and why

When you open a page, your browser asks our host for it. To answer, our host handles your IP address, the page you asked for, and basic details your browser sends, such as its type and language. We use this only to deliver the site, keep it secure, and fix problems.

If you are in the EU or UK, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

We don’t ask you to sign up or fill in a form. The only time we get your name or email address is if you choose to email us at hello@sproutfaith.com. We then have your address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply or to correct a mistake you point out, and we don’t add you to any list. We don’t collect anything else about you.

Cookies and local storage

We don’t set cookies. When you use the light/dark toggle, your browser saves one setting called “theme” in its local storage so the site can remember your choice. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings. If you never touch the toggle, the site follows your device’s light or dark setting.

The text you type in the Library search box is used on your screen to filter the list. It isn’t sent anywhere.

Our fonts are served from our own domain, so your browser does not contact a font provider.

Who we share it with

We use Cloudflare, Inc. to host and deliver this site. It handles technical request data (see above) on our behalf and under its own privacy policy.

We don’t use advertising or analytics services, we don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. No third parties track you on this site.

Email you send us is handled by our email provider, which stores it on our behalf.

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Our server logs, which record the page requested and the response, are kept for up to 7 days and then deleted automatically. Cloudflare may keep its own network data for security and legal reasons for the period set out in its privacy policy. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and to fix anything you raise. Your theme setting stays on your device until you clear it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you,
  • correct it or delete it,
  • restrict how we use it, or object to our using it,
  • give you a copy of it in a portable format.

Because we don’t keep personal information about you on our own systems, there is usually nothing for us to find or change. You are welcome to ask anyway: email privacy@sproutfaith.com, and we’ll answer within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.

In the EU and UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We don’t track you across websites and no third parties track you here, so there is nothing to opt out of. Browser signals such as Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control don’t change anything on this site, because we already behave the way those signals ask.

Children

SproutFaith is written for adults who lead small groups. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some countries), and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

International transfers

Cloudflare runs a global network, so technical request data may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States. Cloudflare relies on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we collect so little that there is very little to protect. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum for that reason.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. We will do this before we start using cookies or analytics, adding sign-ups such as a newsletter or contact form, or offering accounts, because those would mean collecting more about you.
